At about 1:00 on the morning of May 23rd, 2003, Kansas City Police were called to the area of the 6000 block of Blue Hills on the sound of shots. They were unable to locate anything at that time. Just after 6:00 that morning they were called back on a report of a body found in an apartment at that location. 26 year-old Willis J. Johnson had been shot several times with a shotgun and apparently had been dead for several hours. Witnesses said they had seen the victim on the previous evening arguing with an unknown black woman in the parking lot. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for any tip that leads to an arrest in this case.
On August 24th, 2002, 71 year-old Shirley McKeown set out from her home to help her daughter at her house in midtown Kansas City. She was never heard from again. On September 3rd, 2002, her car was found concealed behind a vacant house at 33rd and Highland. Due to the amount of her blood and other evidence found in the car, the case was ruled a homicide investigation. Her body still has not been found and no arrests have been made. Any tip leading to an arrest in this case is eligible for a cash reward of up to $10,000.
The Greater KC Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline and Raytown, Missouri Police Department continue to solicit information regarding the 2001 homicide of Craig Lasley in Raytown, Mo. Mr. Lasley was found dead in his home at 8614 Oxford Ave. Raytown, Missouri.

On July 24th, 2001, at about 7:00 in the evening, Kansas City, Kansas police officers responded to a call about a woman down in an abandoned house in the 900 block of Ohio. When officers arrived they found the partially nude body of 63 year-old Kia Vang.
The victim had been stabbed to death and sexually assaulted. She had numerous stab wounds to her chest and several defensive knife wounds indicating she had tried to resist her attacker.
She had last been seen at about 8:00 that morning walking around the neighborhood, as she often did, looking for aluminum cans to sell for recycling.
This cold case remains unsolved and there is a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
On September 10th, 2000 58 year-old Caroline Neal was working a night shift at a convenience store at 63rd and Oak in Kansas City when two masked men armed with guns entered the store. Ms. Neal barely had a chance to comply with the gunmen’s demands when she was shot and killed. The suspects, both black males, were wearing Halloween masks, one of them a mask such as the one from the “Scream” motion pictures. The case remains cold. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest in this case.
Just after midnight on October 2, 1997,
On July 26, 1989 Fawn Marie Cox was raped and murdered in her home at 4640 E. 9th Street KCMO, she was only 16 years old at the time. 2019 is the 30th anniversary of this unsolved homicide.

On 8-13-2016 at approximately 1:53am, uniformed KCPD officers were dispatched to 5761 College in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival officers located two unresponsive juvenile male victims (Ugwuh and Ross) inside the residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The males were transported to area hospitals where they died as a result of their injuries.
